Nintendo 64 non oem reprodction Beetle Adventure Racing video game cartridge.
Beetle Adventure Racing! is a critically acclaimed, arcade-style racing video game released for the Nintendo 64 in 1999. Developed by Paradigm Entertainment and EA Canada and published by Electronic Arts, the game uniquely features the then-brand-new Volkswagen New Beetle as its exclusive vehicle choice.
Gameplay Overview
Unlike typical lap-based racers of its era, Beetle Adventure Racing! focuses heavily on exploration and adventure. Players pilot customized VW Beetles through massive, sprawling, and highly interactive point-to-point circuits. The game is celebrated for its incredible sense of speed, responsive analogue controls, and complex track designs filled with vertical drops, destructible environments, and layered shortcuts.
Key Features
Massive, Varied Tracks: The game features unusually long and diverse environments—ranging from a scenic British countryside to a volcanic, prehistoric Tiki island complete with a roaring T-Rex.
Shortcut Hunting: Tracks are intentionally built with countless hidden paths, side alleys, and breakable barriers that require players to stray off the main road to find the fastest routes.
Championship Progression: The single-player mode guides drivers through Novice, Advanced, and Professional circuits, allowing players to unlock faster Beetle variants (including police and alien models) and secret tracks.
Beetle Battle Mode: Beyond standard local multiplayer racing, the game features a highly praised, up-to-four-player vehicular combat mode. Players enter custom battle arenas to hunt down colored ladybug icons while blasting opponents with weapons like rockets and mines.
Regional Variation: In Australia, the game was released under the title HSV Adventure Racing, which replaced the Volkswagen Beetles with local Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) Commodores.
