S.O.S. Band, The

American R&B and electro-funk band. Original bandname "Santa Monica" was changed to "The S.O.S. Band" by Sigidi Bashir Abdullah during the recording sessions for "Take Your Time (Do It Right)" (1979). It originally stood for "sounds of success."
