平尾 勇 (Hirao Isamu)
平尾昌晃 (Hirao Masaaki) - Japanese composer, singer, lyricist, and actor, born 24th December 1937 in Tokyo - died 21st July 2017 in Tokyo.
Debuted as one of Japan's premiere rock & rollers/rockabilly singers (along with 山下敬二郎 and Miki Curtis) in 1958 and form the late-60's he became one of the most successful Kayokyoku and soundtrack (Meiko Kaji - 修羅の花 is one of his numerous soundtrack compositions) composers.
Successful Kayokyoku singers such as Akira Fuse, Hiroshi Itsuki and Rumiko Koyanagi had many hits composed by him but he also wrote for pop superstars such as Kenji Sawada, Momoe Yamaguchi and Seiko Matsuda.
