She studied at the University Of Arizona. She began her career in the mid-1960s as a photographer. She was the first woman to have a photograph on the cover of the music journal Rolling Stone. Co-founder of Wings in 1971 where she played keyboards
Wife of Paul McCartney, 12 March 1969-17 April 1998 (her death). Mother of Heather McCartney (from her first marriage, later formally adopted by Paul McCartney), Mary McCartney, Stella McCartney and James McCartney. Daughter-in-law of James McCartney and sister-in-law of Michael McCartney.
