Frank Dowding
Jamaican reggae musician and vocalist, born December 1944 in Port Maria, St Parish, Jamaica. In the 60s he learned to play piano, drums, guitar and trumpet and started as a concert organizer (with Inner Circle). From 1971 to 1978 he was a member of Ras Michael & The Sons Of Negus, playing funde drum. He starting recording in 1972 at Joe Gibb's studio, then ran the Shepherd label as well as recording at Lee Perry's Black Ark studio. He appeared in the film "Rockers" (1978), where he performed "Graduation in Zion" in Harry J Studios (the song was recorded two years before the release of the film).
He was also known as "Kid", "Kid Reketek", "Kiddi", "Kid Bangarang" & "Doctor Feel Good" and named "Kiddus I" (which means "the saint" in Amharic) by Rs Michael.
