Mastering and lacquer cutting engineer, based in California, United States.

Not to be confused with his son JJ Golden and his daughter April Golden, who work as mastering / lacquer cutting engineers at the same studio.

In his early high school days ('60s), John formed a band called Johnny And The Uncalled Four and they released a few 45s. The band played its last gig on October 9th 1965. Three days later John was inducted into the Navy.

Before starting his own mastering studio Golden Mastering (Ventura, California) in 1993, he worked four years as a recording engineer at Wally Heider Studios (ca. 1969–ca. 1973), before becoming a mastering engineer with Artisan Sound Recorders (ca. 1973–1975), Kendun Recorders (1975–1981) and K Disc Mastering (1981–1993).
