American popular musician, bandleader & radio-TV personality.

Died July 29, 1984 in State College, Pennsylvania, USA.
Married to pianist Virginia Morley (1954-1984, his death).
Brother of Tom Waring. Grandfather of drummer Fred Waring.
He was sometimes referred to as "America's Singing Master" and "The Man Who Taught America How to Sing." He broadcast for radio station WWJ in Detroit in the early 1920s and later graduated to having his own radio and television show for NBC. Owner of the lucrative Shawnee Inn on six hundred acres in Pennsylvania.
He was also a promoter, financial backer and namesake of the Waring Blender, the first modern electric blender on the market.
