Brazilian composer, singer, guitarist, writer, and political activist, born August 7, 1942 in Santo Amaro da Purificação, Bahia, Brazil. One of the originator of the "Tropicalia" movement.

Brother of Maria Bethânia. Uncle of Belô Velloso.
