Collection: Ambrosian Singers, The
London based choral group, founded in 1951 by conductor John McCarthy and musicologist Denis Stevens. From 1961 to 1966, during McCarthy's tenure as choral director of The London Symphony Orchestra, when directed by McCarthy, the Ambrosian Singers were called the London Symphony Orchestra Chorus. Not to be confused with London Symphony Chorus.
