The group began as a hardcore punk band but gradually incorporated more melodic and alternative rock influences over time. Vocalist John Stabb Schroeder was the only constant member throughout the band’s existence, while original drummer Marc Alberstadt played from 1980 until 1986. Tom Lyle, who initially joined as bassist in 1981 before switching to guitar, remained with the band until their breakup. Brian Baker, who played guitar with the group from 1981 through 1982, and the final bassist, J. Robbins, joined in 1986 and stayed until the end.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe band reunited briefly for shows in 2007 and 2010, though there were no plans for a full-time reformation. In 2014, Government Issue performed another reunion show featuring three-quarters of the Legless Bull lineup, performing songs from that EP as well as their 1980 demo.
